LtCol Armando Gonzalez is a transitional military officer with many years of experience in the logistics field and supply chain. Here are some of his accomplishments during his career while serving in Colombia:
  • He developed a 24th month support plan for the Colombian Marines which was aligned with  Colombia’s new counter insurgent strategy in order to bring an end to their internal war.
  • Implemented, and expertly managed a million-dollar budget of both current and previous Foreign Military Financing monies in order to train Colombian Marines Forces as they continued their interdiction operations and counter insurgent war.
  • His continuous monitoring of partner nation Colombian Marines has led to an overall improvement in training efficiencies, doctrine & policy development, including out sourcing solutions for both riverine and ground operations with the current host-nation war strategy against the Fuerzas Armadas Republica de Colombia.
  • He oversaw the complete execution of the first ever, unmanned aerial vehicle operation. In addition to that, he also created a support package for Partnership of the America’s training exercise an exercise involving more than 1,000 U.S service members operating in a foreign country.
LtCol Armando Gonzalez completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chapman University, Orange, CA. He also holds a Master’s of Science in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego, San Diego, CA. For many years, he has proactively managed simultaneous logistics support enterprises on opposite sides of the world, establishing effective global communications/ coordination measures & successfully sustained dual site operations. He also adapted to the unit’s expanded mission to provide additional security details for deployed forces implementing the training, organizational adjustments & policies/ procedures to adapt to the new task.

has been recognized on several occasions for his efforts in the operational field. Some of these recognitions include the Colombian Marines Service Medal for support to Colombian Marine Forces and a Meritorious Service Medal for service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. From 07/11 to 07/13, Armando Gonzalez received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his role as USMC Rep to Colombia. From 08/05 to 02/07, he also received a Meritorious Service Medal for his service as an Assistant Logistics Officer in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

While performing this role, he provided executive level staff support to the Commander, overseeing Installation Logistics functions covering supply, facilities, transportation etc. Prior to this, he served as Commanding Officer of Marine Wing Support Squadron 371, Yuma, AZ from 06/14 to 04/2016.   As commanding officer, he provided a broad spectrum of life support, general logistics, equipment maintenance, transportation, construction and engineering services to support domestic and foreign areas operating services.

Armando Gonzalez also served as European Region Desk Officer at headquarters US Marine Corps, Washington DC. There, he helped develop and coordinated Marine Corps service level policy & strategic communications with European Command partner nations.

From 06/11 to 06/2013, Armando Gonzalez served as USMC Representative to Colombia, Bogota, Colombia. He functioned as a Principal advisor to the Colombian Navy and Marine Corps Service Chiefs covering functional areas including: plans, policies, operations, doctrine, training, equipment, logistics, and communications.

LtCol Armando Gonzalez is a military officer having more than twenty-eight years of experience. Presently, he is serving the United States Marine Corps in Yuma, AZ as a Staff officer. He provides executive level staff support to the commander, oversees installation logistics functions covering supply, facilities, transportation and much more. As a military officer, he served in many different positions and performed a slew of responsibilities:

  • As a commanding officer with the MWSS 371, LtCol Armando Gonzalez prepared and recommended the supplemental policy & program instruction affecting multiple logistical support operations covering areas like camp construction, food service, supply, & transportation.
     
  • He served as Europe Region Desk Officer at Headquarters US Marine Corps where he developed and coordinated Marine Corps service level policy and strategic communication with partnering nations. He also coordinated the visits by foreign dignitaries.
     
  • From the year 06/11 to 6/13, he was the USMC representative to Colombia. While there he functioned as principal advisor to the Colombian Marine Corps covering various functional area to include budgeting and forecasting for future requirement to help train Colombian Marines.
     
  • Prior to this, he was an executive officer (2011) and an operations officer (2009) at Marine Wing Support Squadron 373 in San Diego, CA. Prior to his tour at MCAS Miramar, he served as a logistics officer with Expeditionary Strike Group 3, San Diego, CA.

LtCol Armando Gonzalez has received many awards/commendations for his work. From 07/11 to 07/13, he received the Colombian Marines Service Medal for Support to the Colombian Marine Forces. During this time-period, he also received the US Defense Meritorious Service Medal for service as the USMC Rep to Colombia. Armando is also the recipient of the Admiral Stanley R. Arthur Award (2006) for Logistics Team Excellence for the Evacuation of U.S. Citizens from Lebanon through Cyprus. From 08/05-02/2007, he received the Meritorious Service Medal while for service as the ‘Asst. Logistics Officer’ for Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Evacuation in Lebanon.

LtColArmando Gonzalez is a resourceful military officer with years of experience under his belt. He started his career as a young enlisted Marine and mostly recently has served an Assistant Logistics Officer at Expeditionary Strike Group Three in CA. While with ESG-3, he served as Logistics Liaison Officer in the Iraq theatre to expedite personnel/cargo flow and facilitate logistical support for operations and exercises, along with coordinating local housing for military personnel in foreign countries. He also coordinated the movement of over 1200 personnel, 30k pounds of cargo to/from objective areas in four countries. He served as the primary advisor to the Naval Commander on Marine logistics and for all Marine specific support. 
 
After two years, LtCol Armando Gonzalez joined Marine Wing Support Squadron 373 as Operations Officer where he provided staff oversight to ensure the unit’s personnel were trained for deployment; specifically, he focused his efforts on ensuring personnel understood all sub functions of ground support logistics that included key areas of motor, transport, engineering services, food services, communications, heavy equipment support, security and law enforcement, refueling, fire and rescue. He also planned and supervised over 30 major civic construction projects to support the local population in Iraq. 
 
In the year 2011, LtCol ArmandoGonzalez assumed the role of Executive Officer at Marine Wing Support Squadron 373. As executive officer, he led his staff in coordinating and integrating all staff planning for logistical and aviation ground support. Later in his tour, he deployed to Afghanistan where he served as a key player in several airfield modification construction projects there. His role involved instructing and supervising subordinates in proper work methods, keeping a check on quality control, and handling the application of correct logistics support measures governing transportation, maintenance & equipment support. 
 
As the Commanding Officer with MWSS 371, LtCol Armando Gonzalez also prepared and recommended supplemental policy & program instruction affecting multiple logistical support operations, including areas like camp construction, supply, food service, & transportation. Additionally, he was responsible for directing logistics personnel in the establishment & maintenance of supply and inventory control management functions, using lean principles and material flow system monitoring techniques. He also supervised occupational, security, & safety training in a dangerous work and combat environment. 
 
Armando Gonzalez USMC has received many awards/commendations in his career. From 07/11 to 07/13, he received the Colombian Marines Service Medal for Support to Colombian Marine Forces.
